This objective focuses on strengthening democratic institutions, promoting accountable governance, and ensuring the protection and realization of human rights. ARBAN seeks to empower citizens—particularly marginalized and vulnerable groups—to actively participate in democratic processes, access justice, and hold duty-bearers accountable. Interventions under this theme promote civic engagement, transparency, access to information, legal awareness, and social cohesion, contributing to inclusive, responsive, and people-centered governance systems and ensuring justice.
ARBAN Media and Communication encompass the media-related initiatives of a non-profit civil society organization in Bangladesh that leverages various communication platforms to inform, educate, and actively engage communities, with a strong focus on the grassroots level.

Recognizing human capital as a key driver of sustainable development, this pillar aims to ensure inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all. ARBAN prioritizes technical and vocational education, life skills, and digital literacy to enhance employability, productivity, and social mobility—especially for youth and women. The theme also addresses the digital divide by promoting equitable access to technology, safe digital practices, and the use of digital tools for learning, employment, and access to essential services.

This objective focuses on strengthening economic resilience through diversified livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and market integration. ARBAN supports income generation, financial inclusion, women’s economic empowerment, and the development of inclusive value chains. By fostering entrepreneurship, social enterprises, and market linkages, the organization aims to reduce poverty, increase household income, and create sustainable economic opportunities for marginalized communities.

Given Bangladesh’s high exposure to climate risks, this pillar addresses both climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. ARBAN works to enhance community resilience by reducing vulnerability to climate-related shocks, strengthening preparedness and early warning systems, and supporting recovery and restoration of assets. Interventions promote climate-resilient livelihoods, adaptive capacity, and community-led approaches to disaster preparedness and response.

This objective emphasizes environmental sustainability and responsible natural resource management. ARBAN promotes green and climate-smart agricultural practices, biodiversity conservation, sustainable land and water use, waste and pollution management, and renewable energy solutions. The objective is to balance environmental protection with economic productivity, ensuring food security, ecological resilience, and long-term sustainability.

This objective aims to improve food safety, nutrition security, and access to quality healthcare services. ARBAN addresses malnutrition across the life cycle—particularly among women, children, adolescents, and vulnerable populations—through nutrition education, safe food systems, and community-based health interventions. The theme also strengthens health systems, promotes preventive healthcare, and integrates climate and environmental health considerations to enhance overall well-being.

Promote justice and peace through new media.
ARBAN generates evidence-based knowledge through applied research, action research, and community-driven studies to address local development challenges. Working with universities, research institutions, government agencies, and development partners, ARBAN identifies emerging issues, evaluates interventions, and develops practical solutions for policy and programming. The organization designs and pilots’ innovative approaches in digital technologies, climate resilience, livelihoods, health, agriculture, education, and entrepreneurship, scaling up successful models through strategic partnerships. By promoting evidence-informed decision-making, innovation, and community participation, ARBAN develops inclusive, sustainable solutions that improve livelihoods, strengthen services, and advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
